Casa del Mar

The villa is located in Puerto Vallarta’s prestigious Lower Conchas Chinas neighbourhood right on the beach. From a security standpoint, Casa del Mar is at 30 Capricornio the cobblestone continuation of Easy Street, the road that descends to the sea from the main costal highway, 5 minutes south of downtown PV. Capricornia then runs right along the beach in front of a row of million dollar villas. The road ends at the La Playita restaurant, 100 feet past Casa del Mar. Up the hill behind the restaurant is the small 3-star Conchas Chinas hotel and the famous restaurant El Set.

The villa is right on a lovely shallow beach with great swimming and snorkelling among the volcanic rocks in front of the villa. It’s ideal for kids of all ages. You can walk to the famous Los Muertos Beach and Old Town Vallarta along the beach. It’s a bit of an adventure and takes about a half an hour. After shopping, and maybe a stop at the Cheeky Monkey, a restaurant we love for lunch on the Malacon, you can take a cab or bus back home.

It is just 5 minutes from downtown PV, 30 minutes from the International airport with call letters PVR. You can take a taxi from the airport to Casa del Mar or we can arrange for our driver to meet you on arrival and take you to the villa in his brand new SUV.

SLEEPING ACCOMODATION

The sleeping accommodation is as follows. On the main floor, up a few steps from the newly renovated street, there is a new master bedroom, with a beamed cathedral ceiling, a king bed and beautiful marble bathroom ensuite. This master suite’s French doors open onto the spacious pool terrace with views of the gardens and the sea. It also has a single bed which can be moved to any bedroom where you might need it. On the same level there is a large second bedroom with beamed ceiling, a king bed and large marble bath en-suite with tub and separate shower. At the rear of the pool terrace, up a short flight of stairs, there are two more large bedrooms, each with a king bed, beamed cathedral ceilings and a bathroom en-suite. Each of the bedrooms has individually controlled air conditioning. We also have Pack-n- Play units for the little ones. The 5th bedroom, “The Studio” is on the street level with a private entrance. It has a king bed, a single and a wonderful Talavera tiled bathroom ensuite.

THE PRINCIPAL ROOMS

The main floor features a Talavera tiled kitchen and a spacious open dining area. The distinctive domed living room is flooded with light from above and the large windows connect you with the gardens outside. From the living room you can stroll out to a lovely sitting area with views of the pool, the beach and the sea beyond. You cross a bridge over the villa entrance to the pool terrace with its unique waterfall and heated pool.

The spacious principal rooms, the wide open windows, the terraces, the gardens, the pool and the bedrooms all provide ample space and a feeling of openness, ideal for groups up to 12.

THE STAFF

The full-time staff of 3 includes Rita your cook, Chava your English-speaking houseman/concierge, Idolina your housemaid and Carlos your pool-man who come 3 mornings a week.our maid. The come to the villa 6 days a week 8 hours a day. You will be greeted by Marcial Resendiz, the owner, who will provide concierge services and make your stay perfect.

THE FOOD SERVICE

Rita will have the food and drink you have ordered on our Guest Arrival Information form at the villa for your arrival. She shops every day for the meals that you have selected, to make sure that she has the freshest food available. You will be responsible for reimbursing her for the cost of the food and beverages that you have ordered from her extensive gourmet menu. She will have receipts and we find that food costs are surprisingly low. At current price levels, it may cost between $160 and $180 US for the food and drink you order on our Guest Arrival Information form for your arrival. For the rest of your stay, you should budget about $180 to $200 US$ a day for food and drink for a group of 8.

BEACH CONCIERGE

You can call on Elijah, our beach concierge, who will arrange for chaise lounges and your own personal palapa on the gentle sandy beach, or to organize the kayak that is available free for a little tour. There is great snorkeling among the volcanic rocks by the beach and food and bar service are available from the beachfront La Playita restaurant.

SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS

If you or a member of your group is going to have a birthday or other major celebration while at Casa del Mar, our staff can arrange everything from a decorated cake, live Mexican music, to even a fireworks display from the beach in front of the villa. There is no question about it, they will make your stay memorable and your special event unforgettable.

Casa del Mar can be rented either as a 4-bedroom villa, or a 5-bedroom villa, to suit the size of your group. If you only rent 4 bedrooms, we do not rent the 5th bedroom to others, You get the whole villa to yourelf.
